WAY TO GO!
Thank you ladies, for the human care reports you sent in. It was amazing to see the amount of money and food donated. It was heartwarming to tally the number of quilts, T-shirt diapers and pillowcase dresses that were made. I have heard reports of the squeals of joy as the dresses were given to little girls in the mission field.
I invite you to look over the compiled report of the activities listed below. I pray it will be an inspiration to continue to do the Lord's work.

52 WEEKS OF BLESSINGS
I have heard many positive reports on the 52 Weeks of Blessings project. Several societies have adopted it as a personal project, each member taking the pillowcase home and working independently on it all year long. Others have made it a group activity, collecting items at their monthly meetings. Whatever the case, it is an excellent way to accumulate much needed items for people in need. Be creative in your donations. Give a few items that will be a surprise and may put a smile on the face of "that someone" who doesn't normally have much to smile about.
This project offers a way to take a moment and recognize how those simple day to day things in our lives can make a difference in someone elses.

Mission QUILTS: so much more than a blanket...
Thousands of quilts are sent annually to all parts of the globe. Thanks to you and other caring women, the needs of those that cannot provide for themselves are met. Lutheran World Relief is one organization that ships the quilts to where they are needed. "There is, indeed, a transforming moment when a quilt passes from our hands into another's, and they embrace it."
Kirk Betts, Former Chairman of the LWR Board of Directors said upon distributing LWR quilts in Niger.
When you make and send a quilt you are not only comforting someone you have never met, but providing an object that is useful in ways you probably never imagined. In addition to being a cozy, clean, bed cover it can be:
- a baby carrier tied around a mother's back
- a market display spread on the ground and piled with vegetables
- a sack for transporting goods to and from market
- a sunshade
- a shawl, and most importantly
- a constant reminder that someone, far away, cares a lot.
LWR quilts should measure approximately 60" x 80". Full size quilts best serve adult recipients and children as they grow.
